Publication Ethics
Champions Sports Journal is committed to maintaining high standards of scientific publication ethics. We adhere to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in every publication process. All parties involved in publishing, including authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers, must comply with the following ethical principles:
1. Ethics for Authors
- Ensure that the submitted manuscript is original and has not been published elsewhere.
- Avoid any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism or salami slicing.
- Cite all relevant sources and give credit to contributors involved in the research.
- Do not engage in fabrication (creating false data) or falsification (manipulating research data).
- Include all authors who have made significant contributions to the research and exclude names that did not contribute (guest authorship).
- If an error is discovered in a published manuscript, the author must promptly inform the editor for correction or article retraction.
- Adhere to the journal's writing guidelines and formatting requirements.
2. Ethics for Editors
- Be responsible for the acceptance or rejection of articles based on academic quality and scientific contribution, without discrimination.
- Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and not use them for personal gain.
- Avoid conflicts of interest regarding the manuscripts under review.
- Conduct the review process fairly and transparently, ensuring no external pressure influences editorial decisions.
- Address any suspected violations of publication ethics, including plagiarism and falsified data, in accordance with established procedures.
3. Ethics for Reviewers
- Maintain the confidentiality of the manuscripts under review and not share or discuss them with others without the editor’s permission.
- Evaluate manuscripts objectively and professionally, providing constructive feedback to improve article quality.
- Do not use information from reviewed manuscripts for personal gain.
- Avoid conflicts of interest with the author, institution, or research under review.
- Decline the review if they feel unqualified to assess the research area being examined.
4. Ethics for Publishers
- Ensure that all publishing processes are conducted transparently and in accordance with academic ethical standards.
- Support editors in handling any suspected ethical violations and take necessary actions such as corrections, article retractions, or withdrawal of publications.
- Maintain editorial independence without commercial or other interests influencing publication decisions.
Sanctions for Ethical Violations
Champions Sports Journal reserves the right to take action against violations of publication ethics, including but not limited to:
- A written warning to the violator.
- Rejection or retraction of an article from publication if serious violations are confirmed.
- Notification to the author’s institution regarding the ethical violation.
- A temporary ban on article submissions for authors found to have violated publication ethics.
